    I love how cryptic his expression is here.

    I can’t tell whether he’s simply panting, is a happy boy, or is a little anxious about something.

    His expression, head tilt, and color immediately made me think of portraits from the Dutch Golden Age, c. 1700s. Well, he is an explorer!
