I just want to say that I’ve been following this blog for couple of years by now, and I’m constantly smitten by the fact that Charlie is such a handsome, charming coyote chap. He certainly knows how to have fun and show his good sides to the camera (not to mention how well you capture his spirit!). My daily dose of coyote keeps me happy. :)

Looks like he’s inviting you to join along in the singing. Do you?

I’m curious as to what prompts Charlie’s howling. Is he usually responding to other dogs or coyotes so that it is a form of communication, or does it seem to well up spontaneously?

love the way he is looking over his shoulder to check on you while he is at it.

mj – you bet!
C – it’s always a form of communication, but with me, Mike, and the Farmily – not other dogs or coyotes. When I drive in after being away, he howls. Same when Mike drives in. Also if Eli meows, if Chloe barks, or when I say good morning: http://vimeo.com/11127258
