A Series And A Story

photos taken April 2007

This photo set is a series from April 2007, and are some of the first pictures I took of Charlie. I’ve never shared them before, because they are technically terrible shots. But I thought you might enjoy them anyway, as they depict the climbing route Charlie used to get on and off of my bed when he was really tiny.
Tiny but agile and determined and clever!

How does Charlie show his affection for the people he cares about?

Wow he looks like a kitten on his first hunt.

K ~ eye and ear expressions say a lot, talking and singing, licking, nuzzling, rolling over, wagging his tail….

Born Apr 9 and you had him around Apr 24. So he was about 2 weeks old when you got him?

I read that the window for wolves to acclimate to people is earlier than for dogs. For dogs around 8 weeks, for wolves around 4 weeks. If coyotes are like wolves, then you got Charlie early enough for him to socialize with you and Mike. You are family.

M ~ There’s no way to know his actual birthday. Based on his eyes just barely being open when I got him, that put him around ten days old. So I’ve always said we have the same birthday (mine is not 4/9) because the math works.

Oh, I remember this part of the book. Thanks for the visual!
