I’m never thrilled to meet a coyote on the street or a path, but I do know a beautiful animal, when I see one, and Charlie is a beautiful animal! We used to see one as gorgeous, around here; he was dark-haired with silver highlights, and well-fed by a neighbor, so that he would not pester her horses.

    Total fluffitude man.

    Hi Vickie :)
You reminded me of something, well a few somethings actually, but Ill only relate the first one.

When I was a little girl, about five or six I think, we went to my Aunts house for a visit. My Mom and my Aunt started talking about boring adult stuff so I went outside to play.

I saw this beautiful doggie walking down the street and bent over with my arms outstreatched towards him, inviting him to come play with me.
He looked at me and I swear he smiled, then ran over and started playing with me.

We played for about five minutes I think, when suddenly my Aunt came running outside screaming at me to get away from him.
I couldnt figure out what her big problem was and just sat there looking at her like she was a crazy woman, but her screaming had scared the doggie away, and I was kinda ticked about that because we were having such fun and she ruined it.

It wasnt until much later in my early twenties that my Mom told me why my Aunt was screaming that day.

It turns out that my doggie friend was a completely wild coyote.

Ive had several encounters with wild coyotes since then, and have never been afraid, just awestruck and bummed when they run away from me.

Come to think of it, I was bummed when that gorgeous wolf ran away from me too….

But Im a very strange person ;)
