Great face to end the week on. He does look happy.

Question. He is 8 years old and his teeth are so clean. I have to have my 8 yo dog’s teeth cleaned every year or they would become brown, ugly and diseased. This is expensive too. Why do Charlie’s choppers stay so clean?

R ~ I don’t know! I was going to say perhaps Carpet cleans his teeth but I just looked in Chloe’s mouth an her teeth are very clean too, and she doesn’t have Charlie’s stuffie fetish…….

ETA: carpet being http://www.dailycoyote.net/index.php/?s=carpet (though he is now much smaller)

    …and kaleidoscope eyes!

As I’ve said before, for showing their mood in every line of their bodies, look to the canines. Cats are often guarded; they prefer not to give any behavioral cues away if possible. Canines, for the most part, don’t care.

    Love the pink-purple tongue!

Alternative Vets in the SF Bay area recommend giving raw bones to dogs and cats. In the wild they eat everything including the bone for calcium and minerals. If Charlie and Chloe are eating raw bones and raw food it will help their teeth. When my cat ate raw chicken necks and wings, his teeth were clean. Raw bones don’t splinter and my guess is the bone helps clean off the bacteria. Some say our domestication of dogs and cats and changing them to “processed pet food” causes a decline in their health and gums. And who knows perhaps desstroying the carpet is the magic dental cleaner of bacteria!

Don’t know this vet but here is one article on dogs and tooth health.

Charlies tongue is an awesome color.

I love this photo–such a happy, happy face! Who says animals don’t have or show emotions!! This photo proves that they do! Love it.
