   It is amazing how Charlie’s coat changes with the seasons. He looks twice the size in winter than in summer. Having lived with the Akita twice annual “blow out” I wonder if you have the same fur explosion.

   With reference to Corri’s comment, is Charlies fur knitable. And what about the fur you brush from the “girls and boys”? If not knittable, you might be able to felt it and use it for insulation somewhere. Charlies would be comfy and warm for your feet.

   oh, my gosh. just finished your book and had to visit the website^^ how old is he now? 2? 3?
   i love the pic (in the book) where he’s playing in the corn…
