Pulling A Linda Evangelista

Look at this light! This gorgeous, soft warm light reflecting off the glittering frost, the sun still low, blue shadows of dawn….. this gorgeous, gorgeous light. I was out with my camera in this light, ogling the light, thrilled for such unique and perfect Charlie-portrature light, and Charlie wouldn’t join me. I called for him, I sang for him, I yipped and barked, I promised him food, I begged.

I knew I only had about twenty minutes with this light – that little stretch of time and degrees as the sun rises, when it’s bright enough to shoot by but before it gets strong enough to throw hard shadows. Charlie stayed curled up in bed the whole time. The whole time!! Linda Evangelista (supermodel from the 90s) once said, “I don’t get out of bed for less than ten thousand dollars.” That was Charlie’s motto on the morning of this priceless light.

Even without Charlie Evangelista in it, I love everything about this photo: the colors, the movement, the textures, the LIGHT!!! Thanks for posting it

Even without Charlie the Star, you keep right on bringing beauty into my life. Thanks and love from somewhere down in the US.

  4. Marg Says:

Charlie is my age now and I totally understand where he’s coming from. I love the picture anyway even though I tried to find him in it before I read what you wrote lol.

Ha, I still see Charlie in the photo! Before reading the words I noticed a black spot on the right side and my brain created Charlies snout. Love the soft light and wave of the grasses kissed by the frost!

Charlie probably thinking “Just go ahead & take a picture of the beautiful glittering frost on the ground without me this time I’m still tired”
